Duties and responsibilities:
The Production Manager is to manage the day to day activities within the production department in order to meet customer expectations and delivery schedules, whilst adhering to strict quality assurance and company guidelines.
The Production Manager is responsible for driving foundry cohesion - built on trust, respect and excellence.
- Optimise production processes through the management of production units to achieve business objectives;
- Overall co-ordination of the production, safety, on time delivery, budget, and delivery with an emphasis on quality and associated reporting
- Leadership and development of production team, inclusive of performance management and training
- Participation in site leadership weekly and monthly meetings
- Production schedule planning and allocation of resources, including maintaining schedules of external operations
- Undertake risk assessments, hazard analysis and RCA reporting
- Increasing the awareness about total quality in the production area, including the implementation, reporting and monitoring of ISO, WH&S & IM.
- Liaising with suppliers, sub-contractor and other departments
Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Bacelor of Applied Science
- Experience in a similar role, ideally with investment casting or foundry experience
- Knowledge of NATA and ISO within a production environment would be an advantage but not essential
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, with the ability to assist the business in further implementing CI and lean practices
- Proficient in computer skills across the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong planning and analytical skills with the ability to think strategically
- Leadership experience with a focus on motivating and leading a high-performance culture
- A high degree of autonomy and the ability to make sound business decisions
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and people
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to give clear and precise work instructions
