Full job description

Our client are one of the largest wholesale fresh flower grower providers in Western Australia. They are looking for a professional and talented Payroll Officer to join their busy team south of the river. 

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for processing computerised weekly payroll of approximately 60 employees as well as some accounts payable and other accounting function as capacity allows.

What you’ll be doing:

Payroll Duties:


  • Control of all time clock system data – i.e. keeping new and terminated employee details up to date, maintenance and correction of departmental information errors (as per department managers)
  • Prepare and audit payroll from the nursery time clock system (Aussie Timesheets) to payroll system (Paypac)
  • Payment of weekly payroll and distribution of payslips
  • Distribution of payroll reports to managers
  • Recruitment and booking interviews for potential employees from seek.com.au on behalf of all managers


  • Payment of monthly salaries
  • End of month payroll reports and reconciliations
  • Reconcile and payment of monthly superannuation (Quicksuper) 
  • Payment of any payroll obligations (salary sacrifice obligations etc) and child support obligations

AP/Office Duties:

  • Monthly creditors – payment and processing / entering of Invoices
  • Payment and processing of “due date” and once off creditors 
  • Payment and processing of weekly "growers" AP function
  • Filing

In addition to these duties there are general ad hoc duties that may be required. These include but are not limited to - General reception and ad hoc duties as needed

What you’ll need:

  • 12 months experience in processing payroll 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Experience using payroll packages
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines 
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
