Your new company
Hays are proud to partner with Muir with the recruitment of their Head of Supply Chain and Production. A Tasmanian based manufacturing and engineering business, they are a highly specialised, boutique business offering world-renowned high-quality equipment for marine vessels across the full range of sizes.

Your new role
Reporting to the CEO/GM, and a part of the executive management team, you will lead a team of individuals focussed on high performance management of the supply chain and production processes. As Head of Supply Chain and Production you will have a number of direct reports, including Procurement Manager, Logistics Manager, Assembly Manager, and Production Planner. Focussed on supply chain and logistics management, as well as production of engineering equipment, you will:

  • Promote a safe workplace
  • Help drive growth and efficiencies of the business
  • Have a strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Manage existing suppliers and identify and introduce new suppliers, both nationally and internationally
  • Manage lead times to ensure consistent production and supply
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Proven supply chain management skills including international supplier management
  • Excellent understanding of inventory control and purchasing
  • Experience in a senior management position, ideally within engineering equipment manufacturing
  • A high level of people management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a divers team
  • A focus on achieving positive outcomes and an ability to drive change and innovation.

In addition, the following will be highly regarded:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master of Business Administration
  • Mechanical trade qualification with leadership experience
  • Experience in the marine industry or marine activities.
