The Ateca V will hit Australian showrooms in the third quarter of 2024, with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine making 140kW of power and 320Nm of torque.
Cupra has confirmed it'll be a permanent addition to the range and will be "well equipped", but it hasn't revealed pricing beyond a promise it'll undercut the Formentor V ($56,490 drive-away).
The current Ateca range offers only one model, the VZx, priced from $58,888 drive-away until the end of June 2024.
Standard equipment in the VZx includes petrol blue leather upholstery, sports seats, adaptive dampers, a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
Based on how Cupra has specified its other models, it's likely the technology suite in the cabin will stay the same, as will the adaptive damping system… but the leather trim will likely be replaced with cloth.
Measuring up at 4386mm long, 1841mm wide and 1613mm tall, the Ateca is a similar size to the Skoda Karoq, with which it shares its underpinnings.
