In last weekend’s matches, the A reserve semi launched V&H Motors into the final, defeating the Busted Paddles.
The team overcame the Paddles in some very hot conditions to book a place against Linray Finance in the grand final.
The match started evenly with a 9-6 scoreline after the second innings, but V&H found a purple patch of form to build a lead the Paddles just couldn’t recover from.
Officials said Veronica Turner and Vicky Hanscombe were both dominant with the bat for V&H, while Jane Odell took two excellent catches which she turned into double plays.
For Busted Paddles: Karen ‘Ducky’ Sandling and Kellie Nunn batted well while Nikki Perry and Jill Overland fielded well.
Organisers said the A grade final turned into the game of the season when Smokin’ Bases defeated the Wolumla Warriors 7-5.
Warriors started the better of the two sides, getting three home in the first innings. They then held the lead until the fifth innings when the score was all tied up at four-all. Smokin' Bases then ran in three home to put the pressure back on to Warriors, who could only muster one run in their final innings.
Eadie Lee was a standout for the Bases roster, hitting a home run to secure the three runs that projects the team to the grand final against Bega Irrigation. Matches on Saturday will run from 11am with men’s final featuring Red v Green. 12.30pm is Linray v V&H and 2.30pm is Bega Irrigation v Smokin’ Bases. A spokeswoman has tipped Red, Linray and Bega Irrigation for the result.
