Club vice-president Rian Smith said the Devils would play host to a round three fixture at George Griffin Oval this Saturday from 3pm.
“We’re taking on the St Patrick’s Football Club on St Patrick’s Day which seems highly appropriate,” Ms Smith said with a laugh.
She said it was fantastic to see the Devils take on the competition, which culminates in a 32-club knockout as part of the new season.
“It’s great to see the first graders getting focused and fired up so early before the season,” she said.
“Everyone is really keen for it.”
She said the Devils would put forward a strong team list on the weekend with a few key players coming back just for the fixture, while top players like Jordan Stafford, Harrison Baker and Ross Jones would be on deck to make Bega’s presence felt.
The entry is part of renewed focus on the sport from the Devils as an enthusiastic new committee has taken the reins.
“We [the committee] are really out to raise the profile of the club and get involved in as much quality football as we can.”
Ms Smith encourages everyone to get along with the club hosting a full canteen as well as a coffee van for the clash.
The club is encouraging everyone to get their red and white pom poms and help cheer on the team to advance in one of the country’s most prestigious competitions.
The FFA Cup round three match will go ahead at Bega’s George Griffin Oval on Saturday from 3pm.
