Recognised as one of the association’s best bowlers in division two, with 21 wickets this season and averaging just 10.62 the Bega-Angledale young gun his stunned his team and the opposition with his maiden century for 101 not-out against Wolumla.
Regularly the opening bowler for the Bulls, Harlow was recently injected into the batting order at five against the minor premier Wolumla outfit.
Bega-Angledale president John Dedman said that Zac went into bat after 19 overs and was sitting a dozen short of the ton with one over to spare.
“He was sitting at 88 runs in the 39th over, then belted 13 in the last over to finish 101 not-out,” Dedman said.
The final over featured a determined six, a boundary and a couple of quick runs up the pitch to get the bowler over the line for his first century.
“It makes it even more special playing against Wolumla, who have only dropped one game this year.”
The Bulls have gone on to finish the season in second place, but Mr Dedman said the match a couple of weeks ago highlighted Wolumla’s strength with the bat.
“They’re very strong, despite Zac’s 100, they scored 240 and won the game,” he said.
Despite the loss the Bulls are excited to host the Eden-Mallacoota combine in semi-finals at George Griffin Oval on Saturday.
Mr Dedman said the team were showing some brilliant individual performances like Zac’s, but there was also a “core group” or players building the club.
“Zac is part of a strong group of 15-16 year olds at the Bulls that have matured greatly as the season progressed and include players like Jayden Heyhorn, Alex Eadie, Mitchell Jessop and Ben and Lennart Imison,” he said.
“They’re building together as a team with a love of the game and being good mates to each other.”
“That’s what sport is about, bringing those relationships and the social side of it together.”
The Bulls will play semis at George Griffin Oval from 1pm Saturday.
Wolumla are the front runners in the competition and will host Tuross Head at the Wolumla Rec Ground on Saturday from 1pm.
The Bega-Angledale under 12 team have also reached the semis and will play Friday at George Griffin Oval from 5.15pm against Merimbula.
In first division play, the Sea Eagles have dropped just a single game to lead the competition throughout.
They will host the first division Eden side at Lawrence Park on Saturday for the semi-finals, while the Knights host the South Euro Pirates at Berrambool.
The grand finals of both division one and division two will be decided on Saturday, March 10.
