Kindergarten pupils Flynn, Hunter, Zackery and Miles have joined their Year 1 and 2 classmates in the garden, getting their hands dirty to produce fresh food for the Years 3-6 pupils to prepare in the school kitchen.
Every fortnight, the school’s pupils, staff and program volunteers come together for a lunch grown and cooked by the school’s pupils.
Relieving principal and K-2 teacher Claire Morgan said the highly engaging program taught pupils about sustainability, plants, food safety and healthy eating.
This year, the Kindergarten pupils are also growing skills in numeracy, literacy and improving their spatial awareness through dance.
