Narek art gallery enjoys new location

Narek Galleries has enjoyed its first days in new surroundings after a “soft opening” last week.

Karen O’Clery has moved her art space from Tanja to Bermagui and said she is loving it.

“It’s fantastic, just wonderful – there’s a lovely outlook over the river,” she said.

Ms O’Clery has been running a gallery for 49 years and said the latest move “from the middle of nowhere to the middle of town” was a real treat.

Narek Galleries is currently showcasing a group exhibition of new works in textiles, ceramics and wood.

Featured artists include Gail Nichols, Sharon Peoples, Jennifer Robertson, Ros Auld, Marianne Huhn, Shannon Garson, Moraig McKenna, Ian Jones, Sophie Xarhakos and Peter Carrigy.

Opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday, 10am until 1pm then 2-5pm each day. Narek is at 5/3 Wapengo Street, Bermagui. Visit narekgalleries.com.
