A good field of men’s and ladies enjoyed the course for an “Aussie themed celebration” and the field was awash with green and gold, Australian flags and suitably decorated buggies.
The golf carts had kangaroos, vegemite jars, and Australian flags cruising the course among the gum trees.
Players enjoyed a big feed after play and presentations where a big cheer went up when Bermagui stalwart Kevin Holzhauser won the major raffle prize.
Best decorated cart went to Anne and Gary Patterson who had an Aussie Corner Store theme.
It was a close finish and the subsequent winners of the 4BBB were Wayne Buick and the luminous Justin Higginbotham with 47 points. Runners-up were Henry Loth and Robert Beuzeville on 46. Then came Ron Lye and Arthur Worthley for 3rd with 45.
In Saturday’s stableford a count-back decided top spot in A grade with Glenn Thomson edging Anthony Hart on 36 points.
B grade was also decided on count-back with Shane Roberts trumping Bill Tyson on 39.
C grade top spot went to Luke Kingston with 36 points from runner-up Michael Derbyshire on 35.
The ladies played a stableford on Wednesday and the division one winner was Marion Calder with 36 points ahead of runner-up Audrey Cook with 33.
Division two was claimed by Mary Mihalidis with 34 points from runner-up Barb Stolk on 31.
Nearest the pin winners were Jo Buttrey and Maggie Hayes.
