Police found almost 10kg of what they believe to be cannabis when they stopped a truck on the Hume Highway on Wednesday, they say.

NSW Police said Roads and Maritime Services inspectors stopped a truck travelling north at Coolac for a heavy vehicle inspection about 1pm.
"The RMS inspectors contacted police after locating a bag strapped under the B-trailer of the Victorian-registered truck," police said.
"Upon conducting a search of the truck, police located the bag which allegedly contained approximately 9.5kg of what is believed to be cannabis."
The 48-year-old Queensland driver was arrested and expected to be face drug charges, and was expected to face Wagga Wagga Local Court on Thursday.
"The truck was issued a major grounded defect for faulty brakes and the driver was also found to have exceeded his work hours," police said.
