Clean Energy for Eternity is partnering with the Tathra Sea Eagles Australian Rules Football Club to help with the installation of a 12kW system with battery storage, as part of the redevelopment of the building.
“We are going for the largest option which will get us down to a power bill of $0,” club treasurer David Howard said this week.
The project is expected to be completed this year.
The park is used by the town’s football and cricket clubs, Bega-Tathra Safe Ride and Tathra Public School, Mr Howard said.
CEFE is seeking donations to fund the project, and will be issuing tax deductible receipts for all donations of $100 and over.
While council DA approval is still needed, the club will also be looking to possibly install LED floodlights, which will help cut energy usage and allow for the possibility of day/night cricket.
“If we get the lights right it will really help our cricketers,” Mr Coman said.
