From Monday, January 15 to Friday, January 19, TAFE NSW campuses across the state will throw open their doors and invite prospective students to explore the possibilities on offer through tertiary study.
Tours of the TAFE NSW Bega campus will be held on Tuesday 16 January between 10am and 3pm.
Members of the Bega community can enjoy campus tours designed to showcase state-of-the-art facilities and course offerings available.
The TAFE NSW Bega team will be on hand to offer career advice, with opportunities to meet the teachers and chat with inspiring graduates now working in their chosen field.
On the tour your you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at TAFE training restaurant The Barracks, which gives students real life experience of the hospitality industry. The commercial kitchen will also be open on the day.
Other stops on the tour include the computer labs, engineering department and workshops for students interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects.
For those drawn to nature, the horticulture area is sure to grow ideas about a career surrounded by plants and the outdoors.
The childcare studies department will also be included on the tour, opening up the possibilities for people interested in working with children and playing a role in their early development.
“TAFE NSW offers over 1200 courses in a range of critical areas in-demand from industry and provides students with the training they need to secure a job,” TAFE NSW Regional General Manager, Kerry Penton said.
“At TAFE NSW, students can study when, where and what they want and are supported by a talented community of career advisors, counsellors and teachers.”
The NSW Government provides significant subsidies for a range of courses at TAFE NSW, ensuring students can undertake the studies they need to upskill or find a new job, without having to graduate with a huge debt.
For those who can’t attend, signature events from around the state will be live-streamed to the TAFE NSW Facebook page throughout the week, with extended hours and extra activities for TAFE Tuesday at select campuses.
TAFE NSW Enrolment Week 2017 attracted more than 10,000 attendees to 1300 events, with a further 26,000 people watching online via Facebook Live events.
