Sapphire Coast Turf Club manager Rob Tweedie is hoping that a community volunteer group will contact the club and take the bins to a Return and Earn collection point.

“We want to give back to the community and promote the recycling side of things instead of landfill,” he said.

After two recent successful events, 40 recycling bins have been accumulated with tin cans and glass bottles.

“I have taken a few in to collection points myself and worked out that each bin is about 25 to 30 dollars and it takes roughly 20 to 30 minutes to put the recycling through,” said Mr Tweedie.
