On Wednesday, December 13, Tony Pinzger, Bob Rudd and Ray Spencer delivered 11 hampers on behalf of the Bega chapter of the Rose Croix, a Freemason sub order.
Over the course of the year, the Freemasons collect money for charity at their meetings.
At their last meeting, their total had reached over $1100 and the group voted on what the money would go towards.
Mr Rudd said the staff at the Women’s Resource Centre had been very appreciative in the past so they wanted to give to them again.
Each hamper includes holiday season treats, including a Christmas ham, alongside groceries and other household items.
Because the hampers contain perishable items, the Women’s Resource Centre has begun making contact with services to get them to families in need as quickly as possible.
Each year, the Women’s Resource Centre has been able to increase the number of hampers they distribute at Christmas because of community support.
After the Freemason donation and a number of cash donations to put toward grocery shopping, the Women’s Resource Centre is expecting to provide around 30 hampers this Christmas.
