It follows a similar sample from Bega collected at the recent Remembrance Day service.
Soil samples are being taken from memorials across NSW to symbolically represent every town and its service men and women in a Hall of Service installation.
Artists impressions of what these extensions will look like are shown on the Hyde Park Memorials website and are very impressive.
According to the guidelines the sample has to be taken formally before witnesses hence the special service.
