After Aidan Barry’s father was diagnosed earlier this year with prostate cancer, he wanted to do something to help people in the same situation.
Mr Barry raised over $3000 for the Movember Foundation, shaving his beard, hair and eyebrows off in the name of men’s health, at the Bermagui Country Club on Sunday.
“I don’t think anyone around town will recognise me,” the 25-year-old said after removing his trademark beard.
“I always wanted a beard, a big bushy beard, my uncles have always had them.”
Half of the money raised was from donations on Sunday, and Mr Barry had an online campaign running for most of the year.
“We had a really good turn out, and the weather held off which was perfect,” he said.
