The school play was performed at Cobargo Hall, and included a colourful cast of characters, including zebras, crocodiles, a locomotion lion and rock and roll rhinos.
Cobargo Year 5 pupils, Olivia and Stella compiled the following report of the show:
Cobargo Public School recently performed a musical called Giraffes Can’t Dance which was adapted from the children’s picture book by Giles Andreae.
The play was based on a poor giraffe named Gerald. He got bullied by a herd of animals at a jungle dance contest. When he had to dance, he was really very bad!
That late afternoon he looked up at the sky and realised that he just needed a different song to dance to and the moon helped him to figure that out. So when he was dancing around all of the animals were so surprised that they begged him to show them how to dance.
We would like to thank all the volunteers that helped out with the play, they put all their time and effort into helping us with face paint, setting up the background and getting us ready in our costumes.
