Local tradesmen and suppliers took a tour around the completed building, while kitchen and bar staff adjusted to their new workplace.
Sydney-based architect Sue O’Connor was on site to inspect her design in its physical form.
She said completing the work was a huge accomplishment on behalf of Tathra Hotel owner Cliff Wallis and the renovation team.
“We had to rebuild everything, Cliff has a great eye for detail, so we’re so glad to bring it to fruition in such a beautiful way,” she said.
“It was important for us to respect the heritage of the building, but we also wanted to encapsulate the magnificent view from this site.”

The Tathra Hotel will open to the public later this month.
