Last week’s story of mummified rats found in the Old Bega Hospital roof created quite a stir. Most of the comments from readers were along the lines of the tradesmen and media getting it wrong and that it was a cat, not a huge rat. It turns out even those many commentators were likely also wrong. A zoologist on local radio, as well as some uni researchers joining the online discussion made a strong argument for it being the remains of a possum, likely a ringtail.
