On Saturday, October 28 and Sunday, October 29, the Cobargo Showground will host a range of horse sports and showings, including hacking, showjumping and dressage. 

Hacking competitions hosted on the saturday will incorporate different breeds and classes.

Ring one will host hacking, including led galloway, led hacks, open galloway, open hacks, hunter hack, hunter pony and hunter galloway.

Ring two hacking includes led hunters, led ansa, ridden ansa and  Australian stock horse divisions including, led, ridden, hacks and working.

Each division will range from novice to champion, including reserve champion.

Results from the hack events will be forwarded to the NSW Agricultural Societies Council for consideration. 

The weekend’s showjumping competition will be hosted by the Bega Showjumping Club.

Showjumping will be broken into height categories across the two rings, the first for more experienced riders with jumps up to 120cm, and a second ring with lower cross rails up to 80cm and suitable for younger riders. 

Competition entry fee for ring one is $5 and $2.50 for ring two. Prize money will be awarded to placed riders.

The showjumping event is quite competitive, attracting riders from Bega and Moruya to take part. 

The showjumping competition is sponsored by Chester and Smith stock and station agents, and promises to provide excellent viewing for spectators. 

On Sunday the showjumping continues alongside dressage competitions hosted by the Far South Coast Dressage Association.

Entry to the Cobargo Spring Show is free. Horse accessories will be available for purchase at the showground pavilion.
