The teaming of Bob Paine and Paul Rumble (hcp 5.75) captured the win in a tight finish on 64.25. Close behind on 64.75 were runners up Arnold Watson and John Stichbury (hcp 9.25).
Third place went to Lindsay Sharp and Roy Matthews on 65.50.
NTP: 6th Geoff Bell, 8th Jim Manton, 11th Bruce Blair and 15th Mick Carr.
Saturday’s monthly medal stroke event, October 7, had a field of 40 players competing for the bragging rights in breezy conditions.
Jim Manton had no real challengers in securing the October medal with a fine score of net 69 playing off 18 handicap.
The A grade win went to Derek Nash with 73 net off 13 handicap, followed by Nathan Batten (-1) with 76.
The B grade winner was Allen Sherlock (21) with 71 then followed captain Ray Stephens (20) on 72.
A countback in C grade to decide the win to Tony Stenhouse (23) shading Rob Cattanach (24) both on 71.
Lowest off the stick was Nathan Batten with 75.

On Sunday, October 8, 80 players were at Bermagui to contest the second round of the Narmorgui Cup, a triangular tournament between Bermagui, Moruya and Narooma golf clubs.
The top three places went to Bermagui and a countback was needed to decide the winners on the day, with Bob Paine and Jan Heaver shading Tony and Wilma Scarpin both on 45 points. Third spot to Harry and Elsbeth Cripps on 43.
The competition is evenly balanced with the third and final round to be played at Moruya on November 19.
