A six-wicket haul by Tathra’s Peter Bennett helped the Sea Eagles kick off their Far South Coast Cricket Association campaign in the best possible fashion on Saturday.

Bennett (6/20) and Hamish Willcox (2/28) ripped through the Southern Eurobodalla line up at Lawrence Park, dismissing the visitors for 85 runs in the 32nd over.
Tathra made light work of the run chase, racing to a seven-wicket victory in the 20th over.
The visitors were reeling early after Matt Potter (1/1) and Rhys Cunningham (1/12) ripped through the openers to have Southern Eurobodalla at 2/5.
Dean Friskin (15 runs) and Simon Mackie (21) steadied for a 32-run partnership, before Willcox broke through.
Bennett then took three wickets to have Southern Eurobodalla 6/68 as the side struggled to make a competitive total.
Chris Dwyer (nine runs) and Ben O’Reilly (10) opened the run chase with a 19-run stand, before Tynan Tayor’s 37 not out guided Tathra to its first victory of the 2017-18 season.
Meanwhile Bermagui forfeited its away fixture to Eden, handing the home side the points.
Merimbula chased down Pambula’s first innings total of 158 with ease, with Pat Whittard’s 70 runs guiding the Knights to a seven-wicket win.
Pardeep Kumar starred with the ball to take 4/16 from his eight overs, while Pambula’s Charlie Shepherd was one of two Bluedogs batsmen to make double figures with his 85-run stand.
In division two action an impressive 88 not out from Tathra’s Jory Taylor helped his side to a 50-run win against Eden-Mallacoota at Bega Valley Field.
An impressive bowling combination from Daniel Blacka (3/7), Jarrod Morehead (2/10) and Morgan McCoy (2/24) ensured the visitors toiled to finish all out for 110.
Kameruka proved too good for Southern Eurobodalla in its eight-wicket away win, while Wolumla thrashed Bega-Angledale.
