Here’s a look at the hot new emoji coming to your iPhone

If there’s one thing Apple is good at, it’s making people want to keep their phones up to date.

The best way to do that is with new emojis.

Hundreds of new emoji, including more expressive smiley faces, gender-neutral characters, clothing options, food types, animals, mythical creatures and more, are coming to your Apple devices with iOS 11.1.

The new emoji are designed to reveal every detail and adapted from approved characters in Unicode 10. iOS 11.1 will also include characters announced on World Emoji Day like Woman with Headscarf, Bearded Person, Breastfeeding, Zombie, Person in Lotus Position and new food items such as Sandwich and Coconut.

Also included in the update is the Love-You Gesture, designed after the “I love you” hand sign in American Sign Language.

The new emoji will debut in next week's developer and public beta previews of iOS 11.1, and will be available in upcoming software updates for iPhones, Macs and Apple Watches.

These new emoji, according to emojipedia are part of the Emoji 5.0 list which was finalised earlier in the year.

This update includes 56 new emojis from Unicode 10.0, as well as 183 emoji sequences used for gender and skin-tone variants and subdivision flags.

With this new update, is your most-requested emoji finally available?
