Fast forward six years, and the now 17-year-old tourism and hospitality TAFE NSW student has been recognised at the 2017 Minister’s Student Achiever Awards at NSW Parliament House.
“When I’m 21 I’ll go to Miami to work on cruise ships and eventually become a cruise director with Royal Caribbean Cruises, that’s my dream,” the Wolumla resident said after winning his state-wide award.
Kye began studying in Bega at 15, and has completed a certificate II and certificate III in tourism, and will be studying a double diploma in tourism, travel and hospitality next year.
He said his favourite cruise so far was to Hawaii.
