But on the other side of muck-up day and end of year parties, the HSC exam period awaits.
To help local kids prepare for their HSC exams, Bega Valley Shire Library has organised three “HSC lockdowns” across the region.
The sessions invite Year 12 students to spend a night at their local library, with access to study and research support from librarians.
Students can talk with friends about their exams and take advantage of the library’s computer and Wi-Fi access.
To keep their young minds fueled, students will receive a free pizza dinner and drink while they are studying.
HSC Lockdown events run from 5.30-8.30pm and open to all HSC students.
Students can visit Bega Library and Eden Library on Wednesday, October 11 and Bermagui Library on Thursday, October 12.
A look at the state’s graduating class
When NSW Education Minister Rob Stokes released the 2017 HSC Snapshot report last week, he reminded all students to take time to look after themselves while preparing.
“Over coming weeks I encourage all HSC candidates to look after their health, take time out to exercise and keep the right balance in preparation for the exams ahead.” Mr Stokes said.
“While it is an important opportunity to demonstrate skills and knowledge, at the end of the day it’s just an exam.”
The data from the 2017 HSC Snapshot report gives an insight into Year 12 students across the state.
