Masterworks 2017 opens on Thursday, September 21, to showcase these pieces.
The past year has been a busy one for artists in the area and Shop7 uses this show to welcome spring.
Creativity is given a boost in all facets of life and activity at spring time. A glimpse of what to expect at the gallery:
Helen Morris has produced an etched clear acrylic panel illustrating a bush lifecycle of animals and plants with a dominant python theme.
Pauline Balos has produced a group of collaged images from magazine cuttings creating imaginary insects.
Steve Stafford has produced an intriguing miniature exhibit of hand carved plant root balls and stems to make spoons.
Jenny Mein has produced a range of new ceramic pots with a white theme. Some subtly decorated and some plain.
Malcolm Halliday has group of three dramatic colour photographs including yellow robins, a portrait of a boy and pottery kiln fire. There are also 4 black and white pictures of wooden carts and drays.
Doris Hoyne has just returned from the Venice Biennale and we expect that she has been inspired for more of her exquisite graphic works.
Jenny Bruce has been actively working on new sculptures and paintings.
Peter Storey will show a new range of carved timber bowl forms and a wall piece of acrylic ink, brush box, tuckeroo and blackwood.
Lenore Thompson has made a new collection of miniature bead work bracelets and neck ware.
The public is invited to come to the opening on Thursday, September 21, at 6pm. The exhibition continues until October 11. Shop7 Artspace is located in the Bermagui Fishermen’s Co-op.
