The combined women’s A grade event will see Elders taking on United, while the Magpies and Pambula clash in the men’s draw.
Pambula team spokesman Daryl Kelland said the Magpies took the edge last year, but his team were eager to flip the result.
“We have had a fantastic and even matched year of men’s hockey in 2017, something which makes it a joy to play,” Kelland said.
“We’re going into another grand final against the Bega Magpies and this year we’re hoping to come out as the successful team.”
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Magpies said they were hoping “to go back-to-back this year”.
“We started slowly, but improved and there has been very little between the four teams,” the spokesman said.
“The Magpies enjoy great team camaraderie and are very much looking forward to this weekend’s grand final.”
In the women’s contest, Elders have again been the team to beat and claimed the early grand final berth.
However, United have been their closest rival and boast the strongest attacking potential of Elders opponents.
A spokeswoman for Elders said there had been some players leave the team and new members join in, but the squad had gelled well and proved versatile.
“The girls have again come together as a complete unit utilising every player throughout the field,” the spokeswoman said.
“And the combination of youth and experience has shone through.”
Meanwhile, publicity officer and United player Hanna Koerbin said competition between the teams had all been pretty consistent, but hoped her squad could be the ones to knock Elders off the pedestal.
The C grade final will be the first match of the day at the Valley Fields on Saturday, running from 9.30am.
Elders C will take on the Grand Stars, while in the B grade clash at 11am, Elders are again on show against Tathra.
The men’s match will run at 1.15pm and the women’s game will go ahead at 3pm.
Spectators are welcome and there is a barbecue and canteen running at the ground.
