Keith Melvyn Wass, 51, allegedly attacked Jordan Rodgers, the general manager of Thredbo Alpine Village, in mid-August.
In Cooma Local Court last week, Wednesday, September 6, he faced charges of using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence; reckless grievous bodily harm; and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Wass says he is a “Pastafarian” – a satirical church group that worships a Flying Spaghetti Monster, and for whom the colander is a sacred piece of headwear.
In a Facebook post last month, Wass said he had been banned from Thredbo for riding in his Chewbacca costume “so I dropped him, he lost consciousness and some teeth”.
“Been ordered to to have any contact with Thredbo staff about what happened and must stay 15km away.”
Channel Ten News reported that Wass claims snowboarding helps with a medical condition and that when he was told he could no longer access the mountain, that his life “clearly had no value” to Thredbo staff.
Wass did not enter a plea and the matter has been adjourned until November 8 at Cooma Local Court.
