Each class took turns parading their costumes of their favourite characters around the hall to the delight of their schoolmates and parents.
A different song was played for each year level as they did a circuit of the hall.
The primary school’s librarian Nick Whittock encouraged the children to escape into the world of literature, and activities were planned throughout the day in the library.
The pupils carried the books they chose their character from, but most of the pupils’ costumes were so clever we didn’t need a reference to guess who they came as.
Teachers joined in the festivities too, and dressed as a colourful array of their favourite characters too.
