Emergency services were called to Sussex just after 10am after reports the man had fallen off a roof.
It is understood the man, who had been working on the roof of his home, fell between three and four metres while trying to get back onto a ladder.
He suffered spinal pain, a 10 centimetre head wound, chest and left leg pain.
The man was stabilised at the scene by ambulance paramedics, while the NSW Ambulance Toll Rescue Helicopter landed at the nearby Sussex Inlet football field.
The man was airlifted to St George Hospital in a stable condition as a precautionary measure.
