Wolumla Public School parents and community members were treated to a day of entertainment and hospitality as part of the school’s annual open day.

The day started with a morning tea with the P&C in the library, followed by a guided tour of the school’s facilities and classrooms.
The highlight came during the school assembly, where students received excellence awards, showed off their work and watched a video of their performance of The Lion King while belting out the songs live.
Principal Peter Claxton said it was a great opportunity to show the community what the students had been doing at school.
“It’s always nice to show off what we do by opening up our school,” he said.
“Small schools are just wonderful places to work. You get to know everybody within the community.”
Bega Valley Shire Council deputy mayor Liz Seckold was a special guest, as were Gai Byrne and Brad Barker from Merimbula Rotary.
