Officials said the men’s open contest was one of the most exciting matches seen with a packed gallery cheering on.
“Scott Galeano has worked his way up through the ranks over the last few years, and his training for the Bega Roosters came into play in a hard-fought five game match against the Club’s current number one seed Jeff Row,” a spokeswoman said.
Row has contested a number of opens and tried all the tricks in his arsenal as the game came down to a 17-16 final point thriller.
Former junior champion Ketryn Lucas has recently made a return to the area and is showing her prowess on the court, besting a number of higher graded players to reach the ladies final.
Officials said Leanne Crowe, a previous runner-up, worked extremely hard in keeping Ketryn to a three-game finish.
Third in the men’s draw was Danny Sherlock, while Jane Thelan claimed the honours in ladies.
The men’s special plate was won by Jordan Tarlinton and Janelle Curtis collected the ladies special.
The men’s plate went to Mark Nicholson with Izzie Russell winning for the ladies.
The Consolation plate winners were Kynan Bartlett and Tanisha Ingram.
The committee congratulated everyone who took part with more than 70 entries this year.
