Activity is peaking at the Bega Squash club with continuing masters events, club championships, regular competition gradings and preparations for the Tarra Motors Bega Open later this month.

A number of Bega players took on a Nowra Masters event last week and long term attendee and supporter, Keri Blacker made her masters debut as a player and will be joining Bega competitors in the NSW teams in Ballarat in September. Best performer on the weekend was Leanne Crowe who made the final of div ision 7.
However Tony Bullman from Dapto foiled her chances of bringing home the winner’s trophy. Jeff Row was 3rd in Div 1, Robert Blacker 3rd in Div 6. Baden Edwards, Janelle Curtis, Sheep Thatcher and Kirsti Fristad failed to make the placings this time..
Club Championship heats were run last week with over 70 entries.
Semi finals will run Tuesday and Wednesday with the grand final on Thursday and everyone is encouraged to head along to the courts and cheer on the finalists. Please, bring a plate to share for supper after the matches.
Grading for the Spring Comp commences the following week. Interested players can e-mail secretary@begasquashclub.com.au or sign up on the sheet at the courts or via the club’s Facebook page. The Spring competition starts September 4 and runs until November.
The Tarra Motors Open featuring the PSA heats Wednesday 30 August to Friday 1 September, will be held on 2 and 3 September. Entries open to all standards with the entry form available on the clubs website or contact John Stylianou.
