Created in memory of acclaimed portrait painter and art patron Shirley Hannan, the prize offers a $10,000 prize biannually for an artist between the ages of 16 and 25.
“We have received some exciting early entries but want to remind artists to get their entries in,” Bega Valley Regional Gallery Director Iain Dawson said
“I’m looking forward to announcing our guest judge and selection panel very soon.
“We had such a great response to our inaugural prize in 2015, and 2017 is shaping up to be even better.”
Entries close at midnight on Friday, September 8, with winners announced on Friday, October 6.
An exhibition of entries will be shown at the Bega Valley Regional Gallery until Saturday, November 25.
Artists can visit the Shirley Hannan website www.shirleyhannan.com for details on how to enter, including information on the digital shortlisting selection process.
