So far 57 entries have been received for the event, requiring the Brindabella Motor Sport Club to adjust the itinerary to extend the field from 50 to 60 cars.
“It’s a great position to be in and I’m thrilled to see so much interest in the event,” event director Michael Taylor said.
The event, to be held on Saturday, July 22, is a round of the Techworkz NSW Development Series and Premier Panel Beating Hyundai Rally Series, as well as the Techworkz ACT Rally Series.
The NSW South Coast event is a long-time favourite of many, with fast and smooth forest roads characterised by a significant number of blind crests, rewarding those with excellent road reading skills.
The Narooma Forest Rally also offers the opportunity for non-series competitors to run the event on pace notes, with several Australian Rally Championship competitors taking the chance to get some practice in during the long winter break between events.
ARC regulars Mick Patton and Steve Glenney, Chris Higgs and Daymon Nicoli, and father and daughter due Andrew and Kirra Penny are all making the trek to Narooma for the second year in a row.
Crowd favourite Richie Dalton will lead the field away, with Dalton and navigator John Allen debuting their new Ford Fiesta.
This long anticipated debut of this car is sure to attract a large numbers of spectators, with a family friendly spectator spot located on Mitchell’s Ridge Road, just off the Princes Highway north of Narooma.
