The milestone was fitting for this year's NAIDOC theme, Our Languages Matter, which aims to promote the preservation and revitalisation of Indigenous languages.
The Welcome to Country was made possible by the intensive research efforts of Mr Mundy’s uncle, David Dixon.
“It really wouldn’t have happened without all of his work,” he said. "The three of us were all sitting up together last night, working on the words,"
"We wanted to be inclusive and relevant for the school. Our Welcome talked about the mountain the school overlooks, and the rivers and the sea that connect the whole area."
Mr Mundy said he got positive feedback from community members at the school’s NAIDOC flag raising event ahead of NAIDOC Week.
