A spokeswoman for the event said it was a frosty start to the day, but players warmed up quickly and enjoyed a full day of matches.
The spokeswoman said the turnout was one of the biggest seen at a carnival day in recent years.
“The annual event was a huge success, bringing many families to the town for the day, where the kids played a round-robin style footy tournament with several games for each team,” the spokeswoman said.
A portion of the gate takings will also be donated to Batemans Bay junior Eli Chatfield, who is battling brain cancer in Sydney Hospital.
Played from under 17s right through to the 14s, this year, the spokeswoman said the mods and internationals also got a taste of finals football this year.
Meanwhile, another highlight that drew a big crowd at lunch time was the age group sprints run between 70 and 100 metres where Tathra featured as three of the five winners on the day.
Results for the teams who contested finals included, the Roosters winning the under 10s over Merimbula-Pambula.
The junior girls league-tag saw Tathra downing Narooma, while in the 13-16 league-tag, Bombala downed Narooma.
In the under 12s Batemans Bay stole the show against Bega and the Roosters picked up their second win with the under 14s downing United.
Saturday the Roosters will host the Eden Tigers with play running from 9am and organisers are encouraging everyone to head along and cheer on the young stars.
