The Breakers showed strength through the middle, winning some of the early clearances to put some long range shots on goal, but the Sea Eagles soon fought back and took control in the later stages.
After trailing early, the Sea Eagles took command to run out big winners 24-20-164 to 11-6-72.
The Sea Eagles had snapped through the first goal of the game before the Breakers fired back to hold a 7-6 lead in the opening 15 minutes.
The Eagles began to cease possession back and put on some brilliant displays of marking on the run and playing through the hands with speed to lead comfortably by the break 40-14.
By the second quarter, the Sea Eagles all but had Bermagui contained to their own defensive 50.
A series of shots from the Sea Eagles faded wide of the main posts letting the Breakers kick out of their goal square, but a dominant midfield display kept the Eagles returning for more.
The Breakers found just a single behind in the quarter as the Sea Eagles piled on the points to lead by 60 at the main break.
There was no love lost between the two sides with two separate incidents breaking out in the first quarter alone, including two players being sent for 10 minutes.
After play settled, Tathra set up a commanding back line defensive effort through captain Luke Taylor, the man of the hour David Little and Jarrod Palmer allowing their midfield to take charge.
The middle men continued to make a huge impact on the play and came up with the rewards for their efforts as Dean Gartside led the scoring for the hosts with eight goals ahead of Chris Dwyer, who booted five.
Troy O’Loghlin booted four and Shane Gartside joined in with a pair as Bermagui struggled to battle back against the flow of play.
Scott Proctor and Brock Lazzaro led the charge for the visitors with a pair of goals each.
Luke Kingston and Luke Moresi were also influential with some good high-flying marks, while Dan Smith kept finding room to move freely.
Earlier, the Tathra reserves had also secured a comfortable win, downing the Merimbula Diggers 18-17-125 to 2-5-17,
Both goals for the visitors came in the final quarter as the Sea Eagles finally started to run out of puff.
However, they had complete control of earlier passages, leading by 98 points at the third quarter.
Kye Solomon and Peter Cross were the main contributors for the Eagles, kicking three goals apiece.
The Sea Eaglettes ladies team had a bye round on the weekend.
