Yasmina Reza's savagely funny play God of Carnage was first performed in 2004 and went on to win the Olivier Awards for Best New Play and Best Comedy in London and the Tony for Best Play in New York. Its international productions have featured such stars as Ralph Fiennes, Jeff Daniels, Tamsin Grieg, Marcia Gay Harden, Hope Davies, Isabelle Huppert, Lucy Liu and James Gandolfini.
In 2011 it was adapted into a hit film by Roman Polanski which featured Christoph Waltz, John C. Reilly, Jodie Foster and Kate Winslet.
In June the play will be presented by Theatre Onset at The Funhouse in Bega with Makushla Bourke, Brooke Edwards, John Fitzmaurice and Jamie Forbes, under the direction of Mahamati and David Stocker.
“God of Carnage is hilarious, biting, adult and raw ... just the thing for a winter night out!” says Theatre Onset president Rebecca Lupton.
“And we are very pleased to continue our relationship with the Funhouse in Bega. It's a great venue!”
God of Carnage plays at The Funhouse in June. Performances on Friday 9 and Saturday 10, Thursday 15, Friday 16 and Saturday 17, at 7.30pm, with matinees on Sunday 11 and Sunday 18 at 3pm.
