The Bega and District Nursing Home Auxiliary and the Lodge Bega Remembrance raised $14,000 via a Gold Chain street fundraising project, and along with a $5000 grant from Masonicare, $19,000 was handed to Hillgrove House on Friday.
“We wanted to do something for charity,” Lodge Bega Remembrance member Keith Evans said during the presentation.
“We would like to thank Mitre 10 in Bega, Robert Hayson and Chris Murphy, Judy Hannan at Bega Business Systems and the Bega Newsagency for their help.”
Auxiliary president Helen Slater said much needed shower chairs for residents may be purchased with the funds.
