Sunday’s market was declared the last for the monthly event that started to great acclaim in September 2016 at the old racecourse on the Bega River.
However, falling numbers of both visitors and stallholders led to the weekend’s decision.
Bega Lions vice-president Bryson Banfield said “it is with regret that we have decided to call it quits.”
“We have not had the numbers of stallholders required to make it a success and this has resulted in low numbers of visitors to the markets.
“We really appreciate the support that we have had over the last seven months and want everyone to know that we have have made a small profit which will go back into the community in various ways.”
