The group competed in the ACT Country Bodybuilding and Fitness Titles in Canberra and had some exceptional results against a strong field.
A spokesman for the group said there were record numbers who turned up to compete in the show with the UFS team a standout across a number of categories.
Under the guidance of trainers Shaun Ruzicka and Lachlan Carey the team had been on a strict training schedule for the last 12 weeks in preparation for the big day.
Nathan Sturgiss and Reece Miller were up first in the ‘first timers’ category with Nathan taking away a very close second place, while Reece took out fourth.
“Both of the boys showed confidence and all of the hard work they put into their bodies definately paid off,” Carey said.
“Reece at only 18 showed us all what such a young person can achieve when they put their mind to it.”
Miller entered into the teenage men’s event and scored second place.
Meanwhile, Carey said Sturgiss had a natural talent and perfect form to claim second in the novice event and a bronze in the open men’s.
Next to compete were the ladies where Michelle Martin and Anna Leamon shone on stage.
“They did the Bega Valley proud,” Carey beams adding “they showed their best physiques yet.”
Martin placed in the top five in the first time figure, novice figure and master 40 and over events.
“She is an inspiration to many with her massive transformation,” Carey said.
“And Anna, bringing by far the best shape of her life to the stage, took out second place in masters figure and a top five finish in the open class, which is an amazing acheivment in by far the hardest and most competitive line-up of the show.”
With the body-building events covered off it was time for the gym’s two fitness models in Jack Dowdle and Carly Jennings.
“Jack at only 16 was by far the youngest competitor, but he held his own to take a well-deserved second place for first-time fitness models and two top five finishes in the novice and open events,” Carey said.
Jennings was the last member to compete and showed great confidence in her first ever competition, claiming top five results in the novice and open fitness model classes.
Carey said about 50 gym members formed a cheer squad in the crowd and both he and Ruzicka “couldn’t be happier with the results for the team”.
The group are now eyeing off the national stage in a month.
