With music, workshops, circus acts, games and discussion forums, the Candelo Village Festival had something to offer the whole family.
“Every show had around 200 people, which was great,” Candelo Arts Society president Sam Martin said.
The festival opened on Sunday night to the sounds of local musicians Robyn Martin, Melanie Horsnell, Mike Martin, David Ross Macdonald, Michael Menager, Pete Wild and Kate Burke.
“It was amazing to see the talent we had in the room, all from our small town,” Mr Martin said.
The new and more intimate format was a success, with music and entertainment spread across three nights.
“It was very exciting to create new spaces in town, and see everyone have a great time,” Mr Martin said.
“All the feedback from the community was very positive.”

Performances by Pheno, Vince Jones, Tate Sheridan, Liz Stringer, The Novellas and The Northern Folk saw the town come alive.
“Vince Jones is a beautiful natured man with a great way of telling a story,” Mr Martin said.
“He was great, but the thing I enjoyed the most was waking up on Sunday, and walking through the park watching all the kids and musicians having fun.
“I also enjoyed sitting in the ticket booth, just chatting to everyone and getting to know new people.”
Due to its success, the next festival in 2019 will keep the same format.
“It was great to see everyone having a great time camping, and the shows drew different crowds, so it will definitely happen in 2019,” Mr Martin said.
