From Storytime and Rhymetime to mixed-media art workshops, the library’s Anne Moore said the holidays are a time where new faces visit for the first time.
“Because they are off school it gives them exposure to the library, gives them skills and something to do,” Ms Moore said.
“It is usually kids who don’t normally visit the library during the school terms.”
Last week’s Beyond the Selfie Workshop saw kids go beyond the popular filters on social media and mobile phone apps, and use mixed media to expand on printed digital photo portraits taken by themselves.
Thursday’s Simple Mask Making workshop saw kids create something colourful to take home.
Storytime over the holiday period covered themes of Autumn and Easter.
Ms Moore is well versed at entertaining visiting children and getting them involved with not just reading, but also song and dance.
