Competing against the best from the Bega-Imlay District Women’s Bowling Association, Tathra members said it was a great feeling to claim and unfurl the flag after a strong competition.
Throughout the competition, the team played excellent bowls winning all but one of their games.
The other game was a draw. Last week, each member of the team was presented with their pennant badge by district president Judy Malone.
The pennant flag was then raised by skips Annabel Gammon and Mary Tupper, while members of the club watched on before adjourning to the the clubhouse for a celebratory lunch.
This day was also a double celebration, as the Tathra team of Janette Armitt, Marie Lucas, Margaret Waugh and Diane Grimes with the help of reserve Noeleen Philipzen were the winners of an inter-club competition.
