The town is set to host the second regional firefighters championships of 2017 on May 6-7 at the Valley Fields.
The championships showcase the skills and expertise a modern firefighter uses every day, be it attacking a fire or responding to a major emergency.
Spectators will see firsthand just how firefighters respond to emergencies, as well as picking up vital fire safety tips.
In November last year, the Bega Fire and Rescue crew won the state title in what was believed to be a first in the station’s 100-year history.
Team captain Gerard Hanscombe and retained firefighters Cassandra Dickson, Trent Smith and Clinton Towill returned with with an impressive haul of medals and trophies after a gruelling three days of competition against 25 other teams from across the state and New Zealand.
The state win entitles the team to compete at the Australasian championship to be held in New Zealand in October.
