Programs and Partnerships Officer, Scott Baker said that the theme, ‘21st Century Make-a-tivity’ aims to combine teenagers’ use and acceptance of technology with their desire to create and recreate.
“The workshops coincide with the school holidays and will see kids experimenting with 21st Century technologies to make something unique using music or photos as the medium,” Mr Baker said.
Making Beats is the first workshop where participants will learn the basics of electronic music making using Ableton Live and Push controllers.
This free workshop is perfect for teenagers just starting out with electronic music making and will give them an opportunity to learn from someone with ten years’ experience producing music using the Ableton software.
Making Beats, will be held at Tura Marrang Library on Tuesday, April 11 from 10am to 2pm.
A second workshop called Beyond the Selfie will allow participants to explore options for using a variety of mixed media to work over the top of a printed digital photo portrait.
Beyond the Selfie will be held on Thursday, April 13 at the Bega library from 10am to 1pm, and will run in partnership with the Bega Valley Regional Gallery.
Places are limited for both the Making Beats and Beyond the Selfie workshops which are free.
