Two games across two respective grounds both had to be culled as rains settled on the Far South Coast over the weekend.
Four lower ranked teams from both the A and B grade finals series were cut short of a chance at an upset with play moving forward on points.
Players from Bermagui made the trip down to take on the Merimbula Knights in their knockout semi-final, only to be met with a water-logged field and no play.
“We got told it wasn’t too bad in the morning so we agreed to make the trip down,” a spokesman for the team said.
However, downpours hit Merimbula and Tathra by about noon and stayed steady to make play almost impossible.
Conditions were similar at Tathra where the Sea Eagles were ready to host Eden in the semi-final, where play also had to be scrapped due to the conditions.
Officials said it was a disappointing finish to the year for the two clubs, who had battled well to earn finals spots in the A grade series.
The B grade final was also scrapped with the Pambula Bluedogs advancing over Tuross Head and the South Eurobodalla Pirates going through over Mallacoota.
The first division grand final will pit the Tathra Sea Eagles against the Merimbula Knights this weekend at Lawrence Park, Tathra.
In the B grade draw, the Pambula Bluedogs will host South Eurobodalla at the Pambula Sporting Complex.
Both matches will run on Saturday from 1pm.
