“We were very fortunate this year to have both Gary Georgiou and his father George in attendance,” a club spokesman said.
“Gary has been a long term sponsor of the club and once again provided a generous array of shooting accessories as prizes.”
Organisers had set up a challenging course of two ranges across five shooting stations and members thanked Darren Redman and his team for setting up the layout.
Each station featured a pair of springing teal targets to reflect the theme of the event.
Organisers were also pleased with the turnout that featured visiting shooters from the Illawarra, Cooma and Canberra against an equally eager local contingent.
Shooters commended the good array of targets, but as always enjoyed a free lunch and camaraderie courtesy of the club.
Gavin Moulding hasn’t been spotted at the range for quite some time, but made a welcome return with a great display on the day to take out the high gun award with a score of 93/100.
Darren Redman led the AA grade standings with a four-off-the-pace 89 points from runner-up Phil Craig just one further back.
Mark Gschwend headed up A grade with 86 on a count-back from John Sankey with the same. Nev Brady was third on 83.
Jim Drakos headed up B grade with 77 from Ray Summerell on 74 and Pat Jubb held third on 73.
The C grade standings featured Roger Sands on 72 winning the grade from runner-up Warren Marshall on 63, while third went to Nathan Wu on 61.
Jan Redman led the ladies on 70 from runner-up Michelle Craig on 65 and third was Sally Armstrong on 63.
Holly Gschwend led the juniors on 70 from her brother Josef on 53 with third place honours for Pat Thomson.
Officials said the scores were fantastic across the board and indicative of a few members “knocking on the door” of the grade above them.
Gary Georgiou won the $500 Jackpot raffle.
However he could not shoot all of the targets to take home the jackpot and accepted the consolation meat tray donated by Bennys Butchery of Cobargo.
Organisers thanked everyone who took part and invited everyone to join them for the next competition draw.
The club’s next shoot will be on March 26 for the 100-target Mark Raabe and Dave Cooke Memorial round.
The meet is sponsored by the pairs family and friends.
Competition will run from 10am at the Bermagui range.
